I read too freaking much.

Got two weeks worth of comics today….yeah I am gonna try to keep the reviews short short:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer #1: Buffy fans will like it and get into it, everybody else, not so much. The story is interesting and art is ok, my only critcism with this book was that I felt it ended too short but…then again that’s likely the trademark of a good comic. Willow and Giles haven’t shown up yet but, are mentioned. All in all, like I said, I liked it.

Y: The Last Man #55: Good, sad to know it’s ending soon and hey 355 & Yorick, sexual tension mounting much (pun not intended).

Teen Titans #44 : Johns & Daniels=Comic goodness. Batgirl’s craziness lately, is explained, and large amounts of battling goes on…SWEET.

Supergirl #15: I know everybody but me hates this title. I use to get it just for the Jim Lee like art Churchill provides me with but, now the story is starting to grow on me, I am hoping for Supergirl & Boomer to get together….what can I say, I root for the underdog.

X23: Target #4: Yeah I missed the last issue so I was pretty lost in this issue. I could say there are large plot points this issue but, it really amounts to much ass-kicking by X23 and the introduction of someone who she cannot hurt. That’s it, this’ll probably read better as a trade.

Justice Society of America #4: I think anytime Vandal Savage has his ass PWNED by Wildcat…yeah…it constitutes a good issue, the fact that Wildcats’ son was helping, only made it all the sweeter and holy crap Power Girl is the new leader of JSA!!! WOOO

Green Arrow #72: Winick you write this series so well, put some of that loving back into Outsiders. Dialogue between all characters is top notch, Speedy has a showdown of sorts with the Red Hood. In the end everybody is ok….well except for Ollie….things aren’t looking too good for him politically at the end of this one. Green Arrow/Batman banter was probably one of the highpoints of this issue.

Ion #12: Anybody else feel a little gipped by this last issue, all this buildup, and then *pft*, nothing. I liked how Marz finally made it brutally clear that anybody Kyle loves most times ends up dead or hurt, people think Hal Jordan has it bad, whatever.

Green Lantern Corps #10: Or as I like to call this issue, Guy Gardner can’t get no freaking respect. I understand that Guy has always been seen as the sort of outsider Lantern that is both crude and rude but, seriously, can the guy get a little respect now, hasn’t Guy freaking earned it already, recruits gotta give him crap now, you don’t see them f’ing with Kilowog. Oh Mogo shows up which well I always count as a nice little addition…wha? I like the character of Mogo….shut up.

Girls #23: Freaking about time, everybody starts coming to their senses a little, and group together to get rid of these “Girls” and the sperm monster….yes that’s right….that’s what they actually call it….making a joke here would be too easy….I am just gonna let it pass.

Birds of Prey #104: Secret Six and the Birds of Prey….ohhh my GOSH!!! You know this is pretty close to comic perfection for me. Oh wait….I misspoke when ICE is revealed to be alive. THAT’S when it comes close to perfection. Seriously I have been bitching for a long time about Ice. Heck Mark Waid killed her off by accident and regretted it. Sooo, is Ice gonna be a new Bird of Prey….what’s Bea gonna say….oh shit….how is Guy gonna take the news that she’s alive.

Shadowpact #11: it was a fun read at times….Night Swordsman still is in trouble. Oh Etrigan is now a coat rack inside the Oblivion Bar (Wasn’t Etrigan a good guy before all of this Shadowpact stuff?). I am liking the character of Laura Fell but, I gotta say those white eyes creep me out a bit.

BPRD: Garden of Souls #1: Interesting….very interesting. Artwork is in the usual BPRD type style….might wait for the trade though…..maybe get the singles hmm. The aftermath of the last story is seen. Abe Sapien’s life, when he was human, is delved into a little bit more. Again, it was an interesting read.

Grifter/Midnighter #1: It was alright, Grifter is bad-assed I will say.

Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis #50 : Yeah yeah, I tried reading Aquaman…AGAIN, this time….I sorta.. liked it, they replaced Kurt Busiek with Tad Williams and yeah…I like it so far…I might have to pick up the next issue. For those looking for a jumping on point to Aquaman, this may be it.

Whew, that was a lot of comics.

    1. Tired an it's not even 3am yet, when the heck did I get old
    2. @despotes I figured he was still dreaming, there was subtle stuff elsewhere which seemed to suggest it
    3. @annabethblue Otherwise I suggest a full reboot/restore from backup aka holding down the button for like five or ten seconds straight.
